Previous groups on the Development Programme
This is the third year in which NSN has operated its Development Programme. Following its success over the last 2 years we have expanded it significantly this year.
In the past, we have been privileged to work with a number of groups from different backgrounds with different projects:
Development Programme 2013 Cohort
In 2011-2012 we helped 17 groups in the Development Programme present their applications to the DfE to open new Free Schools in 2013. Of these, 14 were approved to move into the pre-opening stage. Thes groups are now looking forward to opening their new schools in September this year. You can find profiles of some of these groups and links to their projects in the document below:

Building on the success of the first year of the Development Programme, in 2012-2013, NSN increased the number of groups it helped through the Programme. 31 groups on the Development Programme submitted applications to the DfE in January this year and are now awaiting approval to open new Free Schools in September 2014. You can find profiles of a number of these groups and links to their projects in the document below:

The first application window for Free School groups to apply for our Development Programme closed on 1 March. 31 groups applied, 22 were interviewed and 16 were accepted on to our Development Programme for 2015 opening. We are currently supporting 14 Mainstream groups and 2 Alternative Provision groups. We have 4 more application rounds this year and are expecting to support up to 80 groups through our Development Programme for 2015 opening. You can find profiles on a number of these groups in the document below.

Please note that though we expect our Development Programme to provide groups with significant additional support, it is not linked to the DfE's assessment process in any way.
