New Schools Network Alternative Provision and Special School Forum

New Schools Network is holding an Alternative Provision and Special Free Schools Forum on Friday 15 June 2012 from 09:30 am to 5:00pm. It is taking place at the Mercure London City Bankside, 71-79 Southwark Street, London, SE1 0JA. A location map is here and the day is free for delegates to attend.

This stimulating and engaging event will bring organisations across the sector, from national bodies to individual providers, together to discuss how developments in the sector can help you meet the challenges faced by the children and young people you work with.

You will also be able to learn more about how the Free Schools policy can help achieve the aims of established independent providers as well as those new to the sector. In this sector, the Free Schools route is one amongst many – and if you decide to pursue it, New Schools Network is here to offer you free support with your application.

The event will consist of speeches from keynote speakers including Brian Lamb OBE, Chair of Achievement for All, Charlie Taylor, author of the Taylor Review into alternative provision, and Dr. Rowie Shaw, former CEO of the National Association of Independent Schools and Non-Maintained Special Schools (NASS).

There will also be roundtables and workshops that will put you in touch with likeminded groups to support a discussion on the state of education in your field.

Speakers will be updated on the timetable when they are confirmed.

If you would like to attend please RSVP to events@newschoolsnetwork.org confirming your name, organisation, email address and any dietary requirements. You are welcome to bring one colleague with you and please give the details of who will be attending in advance. Confirmation of places will be given one week before the event.
